Love Is Forever

Marriage is forever; it is a covenant that is meant to last forever.

It is a long-term commitment with another person, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do them part.

Therefore, it is not lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason.

God had made men male and female in the beginning, and said, "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined together to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh."

So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.

Marriage is a holy matrimony under God between a man and a woman.

In the past, Moses, because of the hardness of hearts, had permitted the people to divorce their wives.

But from the beginning it was not so.

Divorce has very bad consequences.

Whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.

And whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.

God has never permitted divorce.

It is important to consider carefully if we are to get married.

It is also important to reconsider carefully if we are to divorce.

In the beginning it was not so; God did not permit divorce for any cause whatsoever.

Love is forever.

It is a long term commitment with another person.

For better or worse...

For richer or poorer...

In sickness and in health...

Until death do them part.

Amen.

  1. I would divorce in the case of abuse. If God will permit you to kill someone who is threatening your life, surely if that person is your spouse, He will permit you to dissolve relationship with that person, it is better to get out than to be put in a position to actually be forced to physically defend yourself and possibly hurt or kill that person.

  2. I do not think that god would mind a divorce in the case of abuse.

  3. Thus says The Mighty One:

" Where is the certificate of your mother's divorce, Whom I have put away? Or which of My creditors is it to whom I have sold you?

For your your [ own ] iniquities you have sold yourselves [ I didn't do this thing ], And for your [ own ] transgressions your mother [ That Nation Of Israel ] has been put away.

Why, when I came [ to visit you, as Yahweh-Hushua ], was there no man [ who would obey Me 'In Spirit And In Truth' ]? Why, when I called [ to you, through My own holy spirit ], was there none to answer? Is My hand shortened at all that it cannot redeem [ and turn you from your wickedness ]? Or have I no power to deliver [ you, from your sins ]?" - Isaiah 50:1-2.

If Yahweh believed in divorce, then we'd all be in even greater trouble than we already are!
