Finally....

Finally I was promoted in my profession. After years of waiting and anticipating, I eventually got what I have wanted. For the first time after many months, I was once again seen happy, smiling and laughing away.

I received the official appointment letter from the Education Department. It was handed to me by my principal. I had a good look at it and I was very satisfied, and all my burdens were gone. Now officially I am a qualified Form Six teacher, and there is no more doubt about it. I smiled a hearty smile, feeling rather proud with myself. Then I received congratulation from my friends and colleagues.

Life is like that. We don't usually get what we want, and we have to wait patiently for our turn. But we must never give up; we must volunteer ourselves for the job, and quietly try our very best to improve and better ourselves. We must work hard to receive what we want; we must really care about our work progress and schedules. And of course, we must also seek after our job satisfaction. Remuneration and recognition come later, whether from the public or the relevant authorities.

I have never expected the letter to come. In fact, I was rather frustrated after waiting for so long. I had done my part, fulfilling all the requirement a long time back. And I was disappointed year after year, seeing my friends getting the offer one after another. But it finally came; now it is my turn to smile a hearty smile. All is done and I am satisfied.

Thanks to the Lord God for giving me what I want. Now it will be a new chapter of my life. More to come, more to come.....

... And I am sure, as I rely on Him for all my provisions.

How To Answer Them?

Do you have friends who like to ask questions they already know the answers? For example, they will ask questions like "Do you think this shirt make me look fat?" Or "Look at me, have I gained weight lately?" or "Do you think so and so is attractive?

Some of us have difficulties answering questions like these. We may want to know their intention for asking such questions. Is he or she trying to test our knowledge or intelligence? Is he or she trying to find out how close and understandable we are? Or is he or she trying to show off?

Sometimes, we feel unhappy at people and questions like these. We are tempted to answer something like "I don't know", "I am not so sure", or "I am not an expert in this". Of course, we will try to be careful with our words since we don't want to make the person angry or unhappy by giving them unfavorable responses.

Some of us would just go ahead and answer them with whatever that is in our mind. Sometimes our responses and comments are favorable and supportive; other times it can be very hurting and can lead to more harm.

There are many reasons why people love to ask questions that they already know the answers.

Some of them need reassurance and support; the more supports they can gather, the better they will be in pursuing what they are set to do.

Some of them need honest opinions. They may think they are right and believe that they have done right, but they are not sure; they seek expert opinions.

Of course, there will be some of them who want us to lie for them. I am unhappy with this group because I wouldn't want to lie for people under any circumstance.

Asking questions that have ready answers are common among family, relatives, and friends. When we want to put on our best for some special occasion and event, we would seek people's opinions as to what to wear, how to makeup, how to behave, what to say, etc. And if we have someones who can assist us, it will definitely make life much better and happier.

Do you have friends who always ask you questions that they already know the answers?

What would you normally do?

ATM Withdrawal

Do you keep your ATM receipt every time you do your transaction? I do, and I do it every time in the ATM room, and I will keep the receipt in my wallet habitually.

Some of us has problems believing in the usage of the ATM. They are afraid that they will lose their money through the ATM. Some called the ATM a 'money eating machine'.

But children love the ATM. They will follow their parents and siblings to the ATM room. They will press the various buttons there. To them, the ATM is a 'money giving machine.' And they know that they will have a treat, some toys or food, etc after they leave the ATM room. LOL

I personally visit the ATM room every weekend to withdraw my family's weekly expenditure. I will normally discuss with my wife the various items to pay and to buy, and we will estimate our actual need. Then I will top up a little for some emergency and various other needs.

Visiting the ATM room during the peak hours is no fun at all. I never like all the pushing, squeezing, and knocking against one another. Though the small room is air-con but you can still smell the cigarette smoke and the pungent perfume in the air.

So normally I will visit the ATM in the evening or very early in the morning when customers are few. I don't like to visit the ATM room at night. I am not sure whether there will be criminals lurking and waiting for me, though I realize that the ATM room is fixed with CCTV.

Some people check their account balance before withdrawing their money from the ATM. I don't. I used to withdraw all I need and then press the receipt button. Then I will counter check with my old receipt from my wallet. I will keep the new receipt but throw away the old receipt into the rubbish basket.

Some of my friends told me not to throw away the receipt. They reminded me to bring it home for accounting purposes. Then, after I am satisfied with the account, I can tear them to pieces or burn them.

I don't know. But I think that is a great idea that I intend to follow. We just cannot trust people fully these days. There are always those who desire to harm and hurt others. It is better to be careful than to be sorry later.

So how would you do when you withdraw money from the ATM?

Singing In The Bathroom

Do you sing in the bathroom? I do. In fact, I enjoy singing in the bathroom.

When I was a bachelor, I used to bring my guitar along wherever i went. And when I had a song to play, I would. Family and friends would come near and we would have a good time singing, smiling, and laughing. It was fun and joy when everyone participated and cooperated.

Singing had become so much of me that I began to compose my own songs. I would hummed and sang along whenever I had my first tune. This often happened in the bathroom when I was taking a nice and relaxing bath. It never occurred to me that I would one day became a bathroom singer. LOL

Singing in the bathroom is fun. When I was full of emotions, I would sing with my deep bass voice. And when I was happy, I would pick up a light-hearted tune to sing along. It was very satisfying and rewarding after that.

My family and friends would compliment me for my good voice and my emotions in singing. I always took it positively when people gave me a good comment. It was an encouragement to sing and practice more often and go for competition.

Singing in the bathroom is beautiful with the echoes and vibrations coming from the four walls. It is better than singing in the open or on the stage. Singing in the bathroom gives me more confidence and ideas to face problems in life. And they give me good mood and great attitude.

Some people have a hard time singing in the bathroom. They are scared people would jeer and shout at them. They are worried that people would be unhappy and would criticized them for their hoarse and rough voice. To me, all voices are welcome, as long as you follow the rhythm and sing how most people would normally sing.

I don't like shouting and screaming while singing. To me, that is not singing. We can always sing nicely and sweetly. We may not be professional singers, but we are ready singers who love to sing. And we can do better too with more bathroom singing and karaoke singing.

So the next time you feel like singing, just sing. It doesn't matter where you are. Start by singing softly to yourself and people around you. If they like it, they will flock to you and you will have your audiences. And if you need more practices, try doing it in the bathroom, and be a bathroom singer.

There is no need to be ashamed when you practice singing in a bathroom; in fact, many people do it and are very happy about it.

Go, and sing in your bathroom. LOL
